Student Internship Job Description
The Work-Based Learning Program offers an internship program that assists with placement for all Aztec Municipal Schools High School students. Availability of internships may be limited. Students must be in good academic standing and be on track to graduate prior to enrolling in the internship program.
Our internship program extends formal classroom learning into the community. Internships are linked to a related internship class or advisory, paid or unpaid, time limited, connected to career goals and the student’s Next Step Plan (NSP), and offer opportunities to explore career options in a particular field of work.
Students within the internship program will attend a skills bootcamp prior to being placed on their job sites within the community. Students will learn basic job applications, resumes, interview skills, and how to deliver an elevator pitch to their potential employer.
If you have any questions prior to application, please contact the district Work-Based Learning Coordinator, Ms. Catherine Olson at aholsoca@aztecschools. Ms. Olson has an office located at Aztec High School and is available to meet with students and parents to provide more information at any time.
Upon application, students will be contacted by Ms. Olson.
