       Educational Diagnostician

 

Job Summary

The Educational Diagnostician will administer psychological and educational testing and other assessment procedures and interpret assessment results.  The Diagnostician will also participate in IEP process. 

 

Reports To:     Director of Exceptional Programs

Essential Functions

  1. Conduct comprehensive educational/psychological evaluations following state and district recommended guideline.
  • Interpret results of evaluations in terms of educational expectations to school personnel, other concerned professionals, parents and students
  • Help plan and implement district wide procedures for assessing the needs of students.
  • Adhere to National Standards in the use of assessment techniques
  • Complete required assessment reports in a timely manner.
  1. Serve as a member of the IEP planning committee to assist in the development of an individualized plan to enable students receiving special education services to progress educationally.
  • Interpret results of evaluations in terms of educational expectations to the members of the team
  • Make recommendations for further evaluations, utilizing resources within the district or referring families to outside agencies
  • Assist team members in utilizing assessment information to plan an appropriate educational program for the individual student
  1. Participate in other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Exceptional Programs.
  • Participate as a member of the in-school screening committee when requested
  • Participate in in-service training as assigned
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings and committee meetings as required
  • Order sufficient testing materials to assure availability for diagnostic needs of the district
  • Arrange with building principals for suitable space to administer student tests and evaluations.

  • Determined by School Year Calendar
  • Salary per district schedule
  • Evaluation annually.

 

Physical Rating Level

This position will require the employee to function at a “Medium” physical capacity as defined by Worker’s Compensation Statutes.  “Medium” physical capacity indicates the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally or up to 25 pounds frequently.
